ONE POINT FIVE Class Owners Sub Committee
At a general meeting held at the Bairnsdale club on March 14 2007. A resolution was passed to allow the Nicholson Model sailing Club to form and become custodians of a
“ONE POINT FIVE” Class Yacht owners association
At a meeting of the NMSC committee on March 31 2007 two members of the committee will be nominated to form a sub committee to control the construction specifications and rules of 1.5 class yachts on behalf of all 1.5 yacht owners
The Nominated members for 2007/8 are
Graham Veal. (1.5 designer)
Bob Moore. Committee member
2008/9
Graham Veal. (1.5 designer)
Bob Moore. Committee member
2009/10
Graham Veal. (1.5 designer)
Yet to be nominated
In the event of the 1.5 owners wanting to hold class racing or 1.5 titles, additional members will be nominated to assist in measuring etc
The reason for forming a 1.5 class association;
Is to ensure that in the event of 1.5 (one design) class racing and titles being held in the future, all yachts constructed will conform to the design specifications and all measure the same (and have a higher resale value)
Note: Yachts that do not conform to specs will still be able to race in NMSC club events (as they do now) but would not be able to race in official “State 1.5 Titles” for example
The aims of the Sub Committee are to;
Adopt a set of measurement and construction rules for a “One Design” ONE POINT FIVE class yacht as supplied by the designer Graham Veal of Meridian Design Paynesville and verified by Ken Dobbie of the ARYA.
All owners and VRYA members of completed 1.5 yachts, from hull # 20 + and “Issis” multi chine design yachts up #16 will be eligible to become members of the owners association and will be contacted
A copy of the adopted 1.5 rules will be forwarded to each member and will become the class rules for the association
The Association committee will have no power to change 1.5 class rules, but will have the power to measure and issue measurement certificates
A meeting of all 1.5 owners and the sub-committee can be called if Six owners request a meeting
Any changes to the rules or specifications will be voted on and must be passed by 75 percent of owners of completed yachts
Boats built before the formation of the association to basic the specification supplied that do not conform to the final class rules MAY be given a dispensation by the committee with the agreement of the designer
In the event of the association staging official class racing, the committee will be responsible for the measuring of yachts, issuing measurement certificates and keeping of all class records
The committee will be responsible for licensing the official builders every two years
And royalties paid to the designer will be negotiated between the designer and licensed builders
Only rules dated “Issue 2 March 2007” are valid
Rules not carrying this date do not apply
